Welcome, my name is Ramses Vargas and I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, practicing through the life-span. I have 14 years of healthcare experience and started as a nursing assistant in 2012. I have worked in many capacities with underserved mental populations in prisons, jails, detention centers, hospice, in-patient psychiatric units, and crisis response centers. I have experience with children ages 6+ and accept patients through the lifespan. I enjoy reading and learning about psychiatry and constantly share insights with patients.
I obtained my Associate in Nursing at Central Arizona Community College, Bachelors of Nursing from Grand Canyon University, and Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the Arizona State University. I was born in Mexico, raised in California, Nevada, and Arizona. I also am fluent in Spanish and welcome all languages via translation devices.
I have extensive training and experience working with underserved populations (SMI) in Phoenix, Tucson, and Mesa Arizona. I believe Mental Health Care is a right and work towards decreasing mental health stigmas. This is why I named the practice Mental Health Now. I am also proud to have weekend openings to make appointments more convenient.
